Bloggers Answer: Travel Bucket List

Get to know your favorite bloggers better with our Bloggers Answer series!

Once a month, we will all answer a question so that you can see who we are – aside from bloggers, sewists, plus/curvy people, etc. Some questions may be sewing related, some may be about our feelings on plus/curvy issues or about mundane things…. like travel! Read on to see where each of our bloggers would love to visit – and don’t forget to comment and let us know what other questions you want answered!

Ireland has always been at the top of my bucket list. There’s tons of places I’d like to visit: England, Paris, Greece, Italy, Maldives, Amsterdam… but Ireland holds a special place in my heart. It probably has to do with just how Irish I am (if I told you the last names I descend from you would have no question about our ancestry) and how cool it would be to see the country and imagine the history of my family. It’s also such a beautiful country, from Dublin Castle to the Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry to the Giant’s Causeway.. I don’t know when it will happen but I’ll need at least a week!

My dream vacation is to see the entire country of Peru. I want to go for a couple of months and really get to see, eat, and do it all. My mom has not been back to her home country since immigrating to the US, and we are both dying to go together. My grandmother’s side of the family has roots back to the Incan Empire, and my grandfather’s side has so much family in the capital city of Lima still. Learning about my ancestors and family would be a dream come true.

My TOP place is Fiji. It’s always been a place that I’ve wanted to go because it just seems like absolute paradise. As someone who struggles with unplugging, going here would be great to just experience life, breath a little and relax while soaking up some sun!

I have always wanted to see Alaska! I love the mountains and snow. I imagine it is totally silent and you only hear animals. I am also slightly obsessed with the idea of wilderness survival. I would love to go dog sledding and ice fishing. I will make it there some day! My coworker even made me a wall hanging for my office that says “The Mountains are Calling, and I must go!” and it has a map of Alaska on it.

I don’t travel, by choice! Whenever I go somewhere I start counting when I’m going back home 🤣. I also hate leaving my pets behind and I’d rather buy more fabric 🤣.

Italy! Preferably all over Italy. I’ve always been fascinated by the architecture and history (architecture is one of my first art loves, I even have a Frank Lloyd Wright tattoo). I want to wander the canals and streets, pop into small glass shops, ogle over the fashion. Spend a little too much on a piece of fabric I’ll probably never sew. Take a million photos and make a photo book that might bore everyone else but will let me walk those streets over and over.

Puerto Rico has been on my list since I was born. I haven’t been able to make that a reality until this summer when we will finally have a family reunion there. It’s my father’s birthplace, and we’re traveling there with all of his sisters and about 40 cousins. It will be so awesome to experience this with my dad and see it not only with my own eyes but through his. It’s rich with history, much of it personal, and I’m so excited!
After that, my husband and I are planning to travel to Southeast Asia next!
